Matching dresses for sisters

vestidos fiesta hermanas

Time for summer events is coming (weddings, baptisms,…) so we have to start thinking what to wear.

This weekend I’ve been looking for the perfect dress for my 2 daughters and I’ve finally found a very cool brand: ilovegorgeous which we alreday presented you in here.

Kate Moss is fan of this brand for her daughter Lila-Grace and now I can say I’ve joined their fan club as well.

What I like the most is that my 2 daughters can wear the same print without needing to wear the same dress. I mean, one can find the perfect pattern for each body (what suits best to a 6 month old baby is not the same for a 2’5 year old girl).

I leave you with my own selection:

Have a nice weekend!

Dungarees and overalls for cool kids and babies

Not all the clothes are suitable for everyone… This is the case of dungarees (otherwise called overalls)!

(A present for my future minimoi - dungaree from Stella Mc Cartney kids)

Dungarees are perfect for babies although there are also come cool people that also look good with them (i.e. cherry blossom girl and sartorialist babes).

Dungarees are too trendy for me (I risk to look like a farmer) but I’m enthusiastic at the idea of dressing up my minimoi with them.

Let’s start with some examples like the marine dungaree from kidscase, green imps & elfs and black from baby Gap.

At overallbaby.com we can find… (guess what) lots of overalls and dungarees!

Another brand with a wide range of overalls is OshKosh B’gosh (you can find it at El Corte Inglés or carters.com). Same pattern but different prints.

And last but not least, flowered Mon Marcel, soft imps&elfs blue overall and anais and I.

Can somebody explain me the difference between dungarees and overalls?

Father’s day fashion gifts

Tired of ties, wallets and fragances?

Here are some cool presents for Father’s day! Because your minimoi’s daddy deserves something different to the grandfather, don’t you think?

First idea: storksak men diaper bags. If Brad Pitt carries one there are no excuses left!

Second idea: Diaperdude messenger bags. Very practical with all those spaces!

Idea #3: Vintage style t-shirts with babies birth year.

Idea #4: Minimal grey hellomerch t-shirt with “papa” on it.

1. Storksak/ 2. Bolsas diaperdude/ 3. Camiseta Branded (etsy)/ 4. Camiseta Zoeysattic (etsy)/ 5. Camiseta Hello Merch.

And for those that love to say that his baby is like him 100%, they’ll love these combined t-shirts with tie from chiccoutureboutique and the tape vs ipod t-shirts from treetopsbaby.

Hope that you enjoyed our top picks for Father’s Day!

Little Barcelona 2013 (Part II)

Today we present some sweet brands, not as rock’n'roll as the ones shown (here) but that also need to be taken into account for their beautiful quality and elegance.

Perfect Days

Clouds, stars and rain drops! We love their naïve prints and their soft and colorful jackets! An excellent first collection… we’ll keep an eye on them.

Pilar Nueno

After 20 years in the fashion kids industry they know what they’re doing. Liberty prints, excellent patterns and a lot of attention to detail…

Bonnet à Pompon

After 16 years in the fashion industry (at Ungaro, Zara and Cortefiel), Alejandra (mum of 3) decided to start this project.

We love their romantic blouses and their delicate knitwear. “Chic Parisian” style for children aged 0 to 8 years.

Astrid & Friends

Young designer Solbritt is behind this new brand. Their bibs are perfect for girls and boys alike.

Did you know any of these brands before?

The Best of Little Barcelona 2013

Yesterday we visited Little Barcelona fashion fair once again. This time it took place at the brand new DHUB in Barcelona Glòries district.

So let’s start with the summary of the most remarkable brands in our opinion.

Be lucky

Cool and über fashion like always! We love the comic jumper (extremely popular thanks to blogger Chiara Ferragni) and the grey and “washed-effect” trousers.

The Lazy Jellyfish

A new incorporation to the fair. This brand really “rocks”. Check out their gozzilla onesies and bass and guitar cushions.

Anguè anguè

Once upon a time there was a designer that wrote tales and designed clothes about them…

Kideoh

Because cool illustrators don’t only make t-shirts…

Froy&dind

Colorful prints everywhere: boxes, notebooks and clothing. Naïf-vintage is here to stay!

Kmfamily

They hit the fair once again with Littlephant and Maxomorra. We’ve melted with their amigurumi toys that play “moon river” or “somewhere over the rainbow”.

We’ll be back with more news in a few days!

Discovering Donna Wilson

donna wilson knitted creatures - minimoi

Sometimes when I discover a beautiful object I feel an uncontrollable urge to buy it. Fortunately the price most of the times refrains me from it (like with the Jonathan Adler cushions that I’ve been admiring for years).

In fact, last weekend it happened again when I visited the store domesticoshop in Barcelona. There it was… the perfect cushion for my sofa! I wrote down the name of the brand and went back home to meditate if it was worth the 53€ that it costs.

I haven’t bought the cushion yet but thanks to it I’ve discovered a super cool designer: Donna Wilson!

Scottish designer Donna, runs a studio and workshop in London since 2003 when her odd knitted creatures (displayed at her final show at the Royal College of art) proved to be a success.

Now apart from her famous creatures her collection has expanded to other domains…

Scarves:

Socks, hats, gloves, arm warmers, hot watter bottles:

Ceramics, glass & other tableware:

And of course: cushions and blankets for adults and minimoi:

Passionate for color and quality like Ingela P Arrhenius (here), Donna is committed to create little treasures.

I hope you enjoyed meeting Donna! Well I gotta go… I need to buy the cushion ;)

Dots fashion for kids

I haven’t still recovered from the shock of seeing Messi in a dotted suit. However, it has inspired me and today I’ve decided to write about dots clothing for kids!

Because excluding the D&G Ballon d’Or suit, I usually like dots and even more for minimoi!

Girls have plenty of different dot fashion choices:

At H&M this season they bet for a classic: white dots on marine blue.

For boys it’s better to pick an accessory like Toms shoes although they can also wear a dotted H&M shirt.

Babies can also wear dots. What about this hat and mittens from petit oh! for newborns? And the muslin from Adén anais (at Tiny Barcelona)?

Do you like the dotted wallpapers that you can find here?

Will you follow this trend?

The perfect gift for her

Today I want to share with you my letter to the three Wisemen. Because I imagine that when we say “I need some accessories” it can be as hard for them to decipher as when they say “some technology gadget will work, honey”.

I love this bag from Maje, but why isn’t already on sale?

Let’s start with jewelry. I love Après ski necklaces,  circo‘s bracelets and Hoss belts.

Regarding bags, check out the ones from Brussosa and D’lirio. If you need a more functional one to carry all of your kids’ stuff, your brand is Littlephant available at Kmfamily.

And what about soaps? The ones from Olivia smell really good. And portuguese brand Claus wraps them in a beautiful and colorful packaging. You can find them all at ”les topettes”.

I also like the funny I-phone covers from Rabitto or a polaroid camera saved by “the impossible project”. And obviously I couldn’t forget to mention Grey’s trilogy phenomenon.

If you’re a coffee addict Mr.Wonderful‘s ready-to-go cup is great. For businesswomen Mia‘s bags and Malababa’s accessories are a very good choice. And finally this lovely shirt from An’ge at Philo (in Barcelona’s Gràcia neighbourhood).

Have you already prepared your letter to the wisemen?

Pregnant with style

Today we dedicate our entry to all the pregnant women that read minimoi!

So here comes our selection of inspirational looks for all the expecting readers.

We love the comfy looks like these two ones. The accessories play an important role such as the big colored bag and Sienna Miller’s panama hat.

Rocky mums like Claudia Schiffer wearing motorbike boots and a stripped dress are also cool.

I would never have thought that military parkas and shirts would look so great.

Romantic dresses are also a sure bet.

And finally the executive look for those important office meetings.

Kids also wear studded clothing

Studs are one of those small details that can totally transform any look, if you are bored of your old jean shirt you just have to add some studs and tadá!! You’ll have a brand new one.

For minimoi there are also some studded outfits, not many but some, and most of them are at Zara.

For her

At Zara we found this cute black dress that I found thanks to Kathy (who bought it for her little daughter Andrea) and also this peplum top with little studs on it.

I really like studded shirts, specially this one that combines two trends in one: militar and studs. The jean studded shirt is already a classic, and studded jeans look really well too.

At Etsy we found this shop called Des and lu that sells vintage pieces with studs, and they are so cool. Take a look at this peter pan collar shirt, it looks so cute and punk at the same time.

For him

It looks like woodcutter shirts with studs are really trendy for boys. At Zara they have these red and purple (available for babies). They would look so nice combined with this grey skinny jeans!

Accessories

Some people prefer using studs only for accessorizing, so here you have a selection of sneakers, belts and boots…All of these are from Zara.

I especially like these beige ballerinas with golden studs, and the good news is that they also have them in adult sizes! But what I really really like are Ash Kids shoes…Check this beautiful boots and sneakers…And some of them you can buy them for yourself as well!

DIY

For those who like DIY, you can also buy some converse sneakers and stick them some studs. In this link from Honestly WTF you can find a very useful DIY tutorial. And if you want to copy Gwen Steffani’s son look, in this website you can buy the classic black studded belt. So cool!
