Original ways to say you’re pregnant (Part II)

If you enjoyed our last entry on 5 original ways to say you’re expecting (see here) today we present you the second part of it, with more creative ways to spread the news to family and friends:

6. Say it with sweets

Cakes, cookies, cupcakes,… Make the news look even sweeter with an extra sugar dose. Just remember to take a picture before they eat it all!

8. Ask help from brothers and sisters

Is there anything cuter than a baby in a bump? Yes! A baby outside it! So take some fun pictures of little brothers and sisters to be.

9. Family Tree Chart

For those who enjoy hieroglyphics and secret decoder cards, check this nice Family Tree Chart from blogger Brooke (Inchmark). When she got pregnant she gave it as a Christmas present to her parents. All the silhouettes were based on Illustrator traced pictures of the family members except from one: the new baby to come!

10. Picture of the baby bump

If you like direct messages a picture of the baby bump with the due date is more than enough.

Original ways to say you’re pregnant (Part I)

This year our closest group of friends is experiencing a baby boom. For this reason, when we meet we tend to devote some time to talk about pregnancy and related topics…

One of my favorite ones is how to say you’re pregnant in an original and fun way. Like with marriage proposals, it’s amazing to see how creative some people can be.

So today, I’m going to present you some of the most original ways to make the sweet announcement.

1. Show the ecography

I love the pictures of brothers and sisters revealing the news. Aren’t they cute?

If it’s the first child, then the future parents can hold the eco in an original way.

2. Prepare a surprise box or present

Everybody loves to get a present, but imagine if what’s in the box is an ecography, a pair of tiny socks or a card announcing the great news.

I love the balloon that comes flying out of the box when you open it. It’s very simple but pretty impressive, and even more if there’s an eco attached to the string…

If your family lives far away from you, another idea is to send them this complete “baby kit” with a fairy tale, the ecography and a pair of little socks or shoes. Don’t forget to tell them not to open it until you’re on the phone or they’ve turned on the webcam.

3. Share the pregnancy test

If you got the news this way, why not share the test with everyone?

4. We’ll need more shoes…

It’s a great and simple idea, and no wander that a lot of people think the same way…

5. Happy parents to be…

If it’s going to be your first child, a picture of the shinny happy future parents is worth a thousand words. Bear in mind that details are key: some pregnancy magazines, a board with the announcement, a pair of tiny shoes,…

I hope that you’ve enjoyed this selection. Next week we’ll publish other additional 5 original ways to deliver the great news!

Flag kids

The Union Jack has been a trend during many years, but it seems to me that the olympic games have contributed to make it ever more fashionable.

At first I was a little bit reluctant because I can’t imagine a little boy wearing the spanish flag and being trendy so why should it look better on some other’s country flag? Well, I have to admit that the colors and the lines of the Union Jack are cooler and although I’m not convinced at all, there are some fun outfits that make me ask myself…why not?

Let’s start with this skull t-shirt from IKKS kids…pas mal.

At Gap’s they have many Union Jack t-shirts, some of them look a little bit like souvenirs, but others like the dinosaur ones are really cool.

I also found this brand called Oh Baby london and I fell in love with these funny onesies and t-shirts with an olympic medal print.

These t-shirts from zara kids are beautiful too, I can perfectly picture them with some jeans and converse trainers.  Regarding converse, do you like this limited olympics edition?

And for those who are completely crazy about the Union Jack here we have this “keep calm and carry on” poster, this ultra-shinny pillow from Zara home and these baby rocker outfits.

Do you like this Union Jack trend? Or do you prefer spanish uniforms for the olympics ( they are hideous!)

Minimoi’s summer exercise book

Do you remember the boring exercise books that we all had to do during summertime when we were kids? I always thought that they killed our creativity…plus in summertime, when kids are more creative than ever!

That’s why we want to present you some creative ideas that you can do with your minimoi…Ok, some of them are a little bit for grown-ups but they are so cool!

Let’s start with a summer classic which reminded us our follower Sara in the post “my first gift”: we are talking about painted stones.

They are so much fun! Here you have some ideas that we’ve found on the internet. Will you try them?

Another summer diy classic are seashell necklaces, but look at these ones! They look so different by adding some paint on them!

I also like these two more sailor-like, the one on the left made with baker’s twine is so simple and elegant, and the one on the right reminds me of a fisherman’s net.

How about updating a little bit the classic friendship bracelets by adding some chains and sparkles?

Finally I wanted to mention how funny are water tatoos. Look at these ones from Tattly! they are so cool, and you can even use them to decorate your notebooks..good idea!

And the winner of Lulabu’s giveaway is…

Before revealing the name of the lucky winner of a Lulabú pack, we would like to thank Natàlia from the brand for her generous participation in this giveaway.

For those who haven’t been that lucky, remember that you can always visit their online shop (here) where you can find a lot of “lovely handmade” accessories.

So now’s the time to reveal the name of the winner… Eva with number 17! Congratulations!!! We’ll send you an email during this week so that you can receive your present asap.

Just bear in mind that our next giveaway will take place in september…

Wooden playhouses for kids

casitas madera elevadas - minimoi

One of my childhood dreams was to have a hut on a tree but since we lived in a flat with no garden, my sister and I used the living room table for the same purpose.

One day, the “Three Wisemen” brought us a fabric playhouse, a great investment after all the time we spent playing with it. When we grew older, our games got a bit more sophisticated and one summer we built a hut with ropes, sticks and stones by the river.

I don’t know why but the other day I found myself looking for playhouses. It’s pretty impressive the wide range of models one can find.

So today, I’m going to show you a recap of traditional wooden playhouses for kids.

Hobycasa

These are one of the cheapest, with prices ranging from 270 euros to 1.700 euros the two-storey height yellow one.

Eurocasetas

Eurocasetas has playhouses from 300 euros made of wooden panels that look quite easy to assemble.

Greenhouse

If price is not an issue, Green House is your brand. They’re specialized in wooden playhouses and have the widest range. The cheapest one costs 815 euros and the most expensive 4.850 euros. They don’t include neither the assembly nor the painted materials (although you can pay a supplement and they paint it for you).

I love these ones with the slides. They’re intended for kids till 14 years old.

Check out these mansions like the two-storey height “Villa Orleans” or “Hansel y Gretel” with a blackboard that divides the interior in two ambients.

…Or “Versailles” model which reminds you of the famous chateau.

Topludi

And at last, in topludi they have very original asymmetric playhouses from ecological origin. Prices go from 300 to 1.200 euros.

In future posts I’ll share with you some plastic playhouses that fit into some balconies and the most modern playhouses ever seen.

By the way, during august we’ll continue publishing although only 1 post per week since we’ll have limited access to internet.

Have a nice summer and enjoy your holidays!
